Dr. Grant Smith,
Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist

Dr. Grant Smith combines advanced orthopedic expertise with years of military leadership to help patients recover from injury, restore performance, and return confidently to the activities they enjoy most.

A Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), McGill Method Certified Clinician, and member of the BackFitPro team, Dr. Smith brings extensive experience evaluating and treating complex orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions in highly active populations.

After serving as an Army Infantry Officer, Dr. Smith earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Baylor University and completed an intensive Military Musculoskeletal Residency, where he developed advanced expertise in orthopedic rehabilitation, movement assessment, injury prevention, and performance optimization.

Throughout his military career, Dr. Smith has cared for soldiers across a wide spectrum of orthopedic and neurological conditions while also leading injury prevention, rehabilitation, and human performance programs supporting thousands of service members. His ability to combine evidence-based rehabilitation with practical performance strategies has helped individuals recover from injury, improve resilience, and safely return to demanding physical activities.

Today, Dr. Smith continues to serve as a Major in the United States Army while also serving as Executive Officer of a task force at the Pentagon. Despite these responsibilities, he remains passionate about direct patient care and continues treating soldiers on a weekly basis.

Committed to lifelong learning and clinical excellence, Dr. Smith travels from Northern Virginia to New Jersey each month to collaborate with and continue advancing his expertise alongside Dr. Joseph Camisa. His dedication to continual professional development reflects the same commitment to excellence that defines the CAMISA team.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife and their three daughters.
