Science-based Customized Care

Camisa Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is the diagnosis of movement impairment and the prescription of movement-based interventions to enhance the human experience. It is the use of a scientific and mechanical approach to promote the body’s natural healing with the goal of regaining optimal strength and function.

We use multiple modalities to achieve this goal. Some of these modalities include manual therapies, myofascial release, joint mobilizations, kinesiotaping, McConnell taping, electrical stimulation, laser therapy, and other cutting-edge techniques like Frequency Specific Microcurrent, Myofascial Decompression, Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, etc.

Who Can Benefit?

Individuals looking to better understand their injury/pain and take control of their recovery – those seeking treatment and guidance toward living a pain-free life and getting back to their activity or sport.

Your Preliminary Assessment

All of our physical therapy evaluations involve a comprehensive mechanical assessment with one of our doctors. The length of an evaluation ranges from 1 hour to 3 hours, depending on the patient’s symptoms, injury, and goals. Our doctors take a detailed history, as well as perform observational and provocative testing to determine the mechanical cause and identify the most appropriate interventions, such as movement education, exercise, manual therapies, frequency specific microcurrent, taping techniques, and more. Our doctors also acknowledge when an outside referral is necessary.

Camisa Physical Therapy Assessment: What to Expect for Joint/Muscle Problems

The Camisa Physical Therapy Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to diagnose and manage joint problems. Here’s what you can expect during the process:

(1) Detailed History Taking: The assessment begins with an in-depth discussion about your joint pain history, including the onset, duration, intensity, and any previous treatments. You’ll also discuss your daily activities, work, and exercise routines to understand how these may impact your condition.

(2) Physical Examination: The physical examination includes various tests to assess your posture, movement patterns, and joint mechanics. You’ll be asked to perform specific movements and exercises to identify any pain triggers or functional limitations.

(3) Functional Assessment: This part of the assessment focuses on identifying how your body moves and functions during everyday activities. It helps pinpoint the exact cause of your pain and any dysfunctional movement patterns in the affected joints.

(4) Assessment of Muscle Endurance and Strength: You’ll undergo tests to evaluate the endurance and strength of the muscles supporting your joints. This helps determine if muscle weakness or imbalance contributes to your pain.

(5) Joint-Specific Tests: Additional tests may be performed to assess the stability, range of motion, and integrity of the affected joints. This could include tests for the neck, shoulders, knees, and other joints to identify specific issues.

(6) Analysis and Diagnosis: Based on the information gathered, the practitioner will provide a detailed analysis of your condition. They will explain the findings, the specific causes of your pain, and how these relate to your daily activities and movements.

(7) Personalized Treatment Plan: You’ll receive a customized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. This plan may include exercises to improve your movement patterns, strengthen your supporting muscles, and enhance your overall function. The goal is to reduce pain and prevent future injuries.

(8) Education and Guidance: The assessment includes education about proper movement techniques and strategies to avoid pain triggers. You’ll learn how to perform daily activities in a way that protects your joints and supports your recovery.

(9) Follow-Up: Regular follow-ups may be recommended to monitor your progress, adjust your treatment plan, and ensure you’re on track toward recovery.

Patients undergoing a Camisa Physical Therapy Assessment for joint or muscle problems can expect a thorough, personalized approach to understanding and managing their pain, with a strong emphasis on education and active participation in their recovery process.
