Caitlin Camisa, Acupuncturist & Practice Manager

Woman receiving acupuncture therapy shoulders and neck

Background & Experience

Caitlin Camisa, M.S. L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., began her career in the health and wellness industry as a Certified Fitness Trainer, working for a physical therapist. She trained patients who graduated from therapy and were looking to continue strengthening in fitness, performance, and athletics.

Caitlin continued her fitness career working with clients who had a history of orthopedic injuries as her passion was established in pain recovery. She eventually became certified in mat and reformer Pilates and created a specialized reformer class that emphasized neutral spine to enhance fitness and prevent injury. Originally on the path toward physical therapy school, she was introduced to dry needling by her husband, Dr. Joe Camisa, as an amazing therapeutic technique that helped her recover from her own orthopedic injuries.

This led her to attend Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City where she learned three styles of acupuncture: Acupuncture Physical Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Kiiko Masutmoto Style. Caitlin uses an integrative approach of all three styles of acupuncture to treat various conditions. She has a passion for helping people live a pain-free, healthy life by addressing the root cause of the pain and imbalances in the body, mind, and spirit.

Through her experiences as both a patient and working with physical therapists for the past 10 years, Caitlin understands the importance of healthy movement patterns and the team-based approach with other healthcare professionals when it comes to patient care. She enjoys specializing in sports acupuncture but believes in the significance in balancing all of the systems of the body to achieve overall wellness. Her integration of sports acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine is a powerful medical system that supports the body’s ability to heal and function optimally.

Caitlin is also trained in cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, and Frequency Specific Microcurrent and utilizes various modalities to achieve improved health and wellness for all of her patients. She believes in diagnosing and treating the root cause of any condition is the key to optimal recovery and true health.
